Local Government Council Worker of the Year Awards

Congratulations to Eddie Campbell and Liz Parkes for being shortlisted for the Local Government Council Worker of the Year Awards in recognition of their outstanding service to the community.


Eddie Campbell

Allotments Liaison Officer, Eddie Campbell, is up for the Community Engagement Award for his tireless work to promote the health benefits of allotment gardening. His natural enthusiasm and outgoing personality have inspired countless people to take-up gardening. By taking an ever more creative approach, including producing DVDs and appearing on his own radio show and TV programmes, he continues to attract lots of people from different backgrounds.


Liz Parkes

Community Librarian, Liz Parkes, is a finalist in the Working with Young People Award for the way in which she has transformed Shard End library into a community resource young people enjoy visiting. She is committed to improving the service and uses innovative ways to attract new customers and encourage existing library members to return. She has inspired young people and helped increase the opportunities available to them.
